TK Elevator has become synonymous with reliable passenger transportation. By 1999 ThyssenKrupp Elevator AG had already recognized the benefits of having a mobile solution in service. With the system that was originally used, the service engineers were able to download data from the SAP system on site and restore job data.

But with this system starting to come up against its limits, ThyssenKrupp Elevator AG decided in January 2008 to find a new system. mobileX-MIP for Field Service offered additional possibilities on top of simple data transfer, which weren’t available before.

This starts with an interface that is optimized for mobile use and includes integration of an illustrated spare parts catalog with exploded drawings, and installation guides. Material consumption and purchase orders are sent directly to merchandise management so that the logistics process can be optimized. With the direct connection to the system, special diagnostic systems can evaluate errors and write other relevant system data back to the SAP system.
After a project duration of just around eleven months, the system was already available for productive use for 1,300 technicians. The customer had considered this project timeline very difficult to achieve in light of the functional and organizational scope.
Since users on the business side played an active role in the design and use concept and the practical use of the solution in daily work became apparent from the start, acceptance was very high.

After implementing mobileX-MIP for Field Service, TK Elevator was able to significantly increase service efficiency and thus continue to lead the market in service.
Since its introduction in 2008, the solution has been expanded with additional functions and continuous customizations. After just eleven months from going live, the project had already paid off financially.
