TenneT TSO

mobileX has won the TenneT TSO as a new customer for mobileX-Dispatch, the field service management solution for service planning of field service technicians. TenneT is one of the leading transmission system operators for electricity in Europe with 41 million end consumers in the Netherlands and Germany. The aim of introducing mobileX-Dispatch is to optimize the campaign planning of the service operations, including the helicopter flights of the technicians to the German offshore grid connection systems in the North Sea, and to increase the transparency and efficiency in the execution of the work.

Previously, the ten dispatchers in Lehrte planned and controlled the operations of the 200 internal and external technicians and production resources with order data from SAP PM in Excel spreadsheets. The planning of the service operations on the currently twelve German offshore grid connection systems takes place in 13 campaigns of two weeks each year. There are about 150 orders per campaign, of which 80 percent are standard maintenance and about 20 percent repairs. Campaign planning must take into account certain technical conflicts between individual operations that can not be performed simultaneously, such as the maintenance of the fire detection system and the landing of a helicopter. The material process is also mapped using the campaign planning tool.

In 2016 TenneT TSO decided to introduce a Field Service Management solution in order to meet the increasing planning volume of service deployments through further future offshore grid connection systems. The choice fell on mobileX Dispatch. The start of the project was in early April 2017. Since October, the dispatchers plan the campaigns with the new software.
