mobileX AG has won ebm-papst as a new customer for mobileX-CrossMIP, the mobile app for maintenance staff. The ebm-papst Group is a leading global manufacturer of fans and drives. With the introduction of the app, the company wants to digitalise and optimise the mobile maintenance processes in its plants. The project also aims to professionalise the processing of maintenance orders and improve data quality.
Until now, the 100 maintenance staff at ebm-papst's various plants could only view their work tickets with the orders on their PCs and not mobile at the plants. In the course of the introduction of SAP PM in 2020, ebm-papst also wanted to digitalise mobile maintenance and equip the maintenance staff with an app for order processing. In future, they will be able to view all details of maintenance and repair orders on the move and document their work quickly and easily via an intuitive interface. After an extensive evaluation, the decision was made in favour of the mobile app from mobileX, which best met the requirements for a lean and quickly implementable solution.
In a pilot, the first 15 maintenance staff at the Mulfingen plant are to start using mobileX-CrossMIP in June 2021. The other locations in Germany, all of which have their own SAP system, will follow afterwards. The orders are mainly maintenance, which are created in the SAP PM maintenance plan and then distributed to the technicians via mobileX-CrossMIP. After the start with the key features, the application is to be expanded step by step to include other functions such as notification system, legal inspections and material confirmations.
