After just 6 months of development, work was finished on the fully redesigned Mobile Workforce Management Suite from mobileX AG, featuring important new functions.
Release 3.2, which appeared in early August, offers customers a more extensive product standard, which can be customised without restrictions in developing individual projects.
Part 1: MobileX-MIP for Field Service - Comprehensive functional extensions and Android client in a new design
One of the key innovations in the Windows Client of mobileX-MIP for Field Service is the new service report: It combines all of the technician's activities, as well as material consumed. The finished report is digitally signed by the customer and the technician.
Release 3.2 also offers technicians, as a standard feature, the option of local job planning without dispatching. This is helpful primarily when the technician is in direct contact with the customer and thus wishes to handle the planning independently.
The Android client has been completely redesigned and significantly expanded in functional scope.
Hannes Heckner, CEO of mobileX AG, is enthusiastic about the expanded service report creation: "In the future we will be able to create 'out of the box“ a service report with all relevant data and required signatures, send it directly to the customer as a PDF, and post it to SAP". The independent scheduling option for the technician with an unscheduled job is another important feature in the new release. "We are also happy to have another use case in the product standard that is popular with customers: Local scheduling by the technician for unscheduled jobs. This, of course, also functions in combination with mobileX-Dispatch and the back end being used“, points out Heckner. Ad hoc appointments scheduled by technicians are here synchronised directly with mobileX-Dispatch and created in SAP, for example.
The redesign of the Android client affects both the existing functions as well as all new use cases. Overall the Android client now offers as standard all of the key functions of a Mobile Workforce Management solution. These include receiving and displaying jobs and all detailed data, as well as time, material, document, and text confirmations.
Rounding out the new functions are the integrated display of messages from office-based staff, the display of the current technician stock, as well as the optimisation for smartphones and tablets.
Part 2 of the new release 3.2 with news on functional extensions in mobileX-Dispatch and information on the revised mobileX SAP add-on will appear in the next newsletter: December.
