Mainova AG is one of the largest regional utility companies in Germany. It supplies electricity, natural gas, heat, and water to nearly a million people in the Rhine-Main region. There are also a large number of corporate customers throughout Germany.
For efficient processing in the technical field service, the subsidiary „NRM Netzdienste Rhein-Main GmbH“ introduced the Mobile Workforce Management from mobileX in May 2010. At NRM, Mainova bundles the network competence in Frankfurt and the surrounding area, as well as in the district of Main-Spessart.
Since then, 23 dispatchers in the main office have been working with the standard tool for resource planning, mobileX-Dispatch. In addition, some 300 technicians receive their assignments on tablets and smartphones. The standard solution mobileX-MIP for Field Service is running on these mobile devices. The technicians use these to write their reports while on the road (off-line) and return them to the office-based staff via mobile radio. mobileX-MIP for Field Service automatically delivers the data to the order management system Maximo.
Assignments in maintenance are made in a „rugged“ environment. For that reason NRM opted to use „industrial-strength“ or „ruggedised“ Psion smartphones (Ikôn). For more complex tasks (with documents or GIS maps), technicians use mobileX-MIP for Field Service on their tablet (manufacturer: MotionComputing).
„mobileX AG was above average in its ability to meet the requirements of Mainova AG and NRM.“ Mainova rated the collaboration with mobileX AG 91 points out of 100 possible. This places mobileX among the top-ranked suppliers at Mainova. For mobileX, this is incentive and motivation. A larger expansion of the software solution is planned for 2012. mobileX intends to set high quality and service standards and get customers excited once again.
