The SAP ERP Add-On

The mobileX products offer an SAP-certified interface for SAP CS/PM. This software component is available as a so-called SAP ERP add-on. The mobileX products - the mobile solutions, mobileX-MIP for Field Service and mobileX-CrossMIP, as well as the software for deployment planning, mobileX-Dispatch - can be seamlessly integrated into SAP ERP via the interface.

The SAP ERP Add-On: An interface for (almost) all cases

The SAP ERP add-on supports all important use cases in the field of field service management and maintenance. It enables the tracking of changes to orders, notifications and purchase orders and is easily expandable through business add-ins and interfaces. By implementing the interface in a reserved namespace, a clean separation from customer developments is achieved. The behaviour of various interfaces can be partly influenced directly in SAP by customising. The possibilities for this will be further expanded in future releases.

Change tracking for push transmission

The mobileX-SAP ERP add-on offers change tracking so that when changes are made to various objects, these are actively transmitted to the mobileX MIP server and via push to mobileX Dispatch and the mobile clients. By default, orders, messages and purchase orders can be tracked via this. Integration is being planned for other objects.

Read and edit basic data

The interface enables the writing and reading of extensive basic data. This ranges from long texts, classifications and characteristics to documents. It also allows access to contacts (partners), addresses, codes including report schemes with configurable behaviour as well as the factory calendar for mobileX-Dispatch.

Resources and qualifications

The SAP ERP add-on can be used to read out resources from the personnel master via teams and technicians as well as vehicles and production resources. The respective qualifications and contact data can also be retrieved via this. In addition, the available times are determined for display and use in mobileX-Dispatch and mobileX-MIP. This allows for more efficient deployment planning and improved customer service. The interface in the SAP HR system is highly configurable and can be easily expanded through interfaces.

Integration of customer service and maintenance

Through the integration of the SAP ERP add-on with SAP CS and PM, numerous use cases for service and maintenance can be covered. This includes reading orders including operations and numerous other order-related data (object list, components, partners, etc.), creating material and time confirmations as well as long texts. Reading and writing messages (including items, tasks, causes and actions) is also fully integrated via the interface.

With this data, the service technicians' assignments are optimally planned in mobileX-Dispatch. The result of the planning is then also returned to SAP ERP as an operation via the interface.

Technical object structures (technical location and equipment), including measurement value recording lists, measurement points and values, can be read out in configurable hierarchy levels. In addition, interfaces are offered for maintaining the object structure and for installing and removing equipment.

Connection of the materials management

Materials management (MM) can also be integrated through the SAP interface. Be it for reading the material master or warehouse stock or for retrieving or processing purchase orders as BANF or stock transfer orders. Material consumption from the warehouse or reservations as well as in the context of an installation or removal of equipment is also integrated. This enables much more efficient material management, as technicians can maintain their vehicle stock and place orders while on the road.

Connection of the customer-specific time management

Companies can transfer times that cannot be booked for service assignments, such as holidays, further training, illness or stocktaking, to customer-specific time management via Z-tables.

Integration of the industry solution for energy service providers

The SAP ERP add-on also offers a connection to SAP IS-U. This allows the data specific to energy service providers for metering, operation and maintenance to be integrated across divisions and used efficiently. In addition to receiving regular meter readings and reading meters via PM orders, this also includes locking and unlocking meters and changing meters.
